InterFACE Mexicali Medical Mission: October 3-5, 2024
InterFACE is a group of plastic and other reconstructive surgeons, anesthesiologists, nurses, pediatricians, and psychosocial workers, as well as other devoted volunteers, who give their time and expertise to offer reconstructive surgery to children in Mexico.
The number of major operations performed ranges from 50 to 75 per trip. Our primary focus is cleft lip and palate repair, but we also perform correction of hand and ear deformation, burn reconstruction, and other congenital and acquire deformities.

InterFACE Mexicali Volunteers
I want to thank everyone who participated in the most recent InterFACE trip to Mexicali. Our large team of volunteers was very impactful during our short time there. We operated on more than forty patients; many were cleft lip and palate children who had not undergone any prior surgical corrections. We also helped many children and adults with complex hand and foot problems. As always, I observed high kevel care being provided by our team at every stage of the process. Most importantly, it was delivered with heartfelt compassion. At a time when the world seems so divided, it feels really great to be part of the group of generous and caring people who come together to make the world a little better place.
With much gratitude, Bill Umansky Until next time . . . October 23-25, 2025
